Personal career targets..(471 words)

Motivation is one of the keys to success, inspiration, and what I also believe is patience.  Second year in university is a period of learning the finishing touches of being a designer, the point where I focus more on the process in depth.  There is still however, the need to gain more knowledge in certain sectors such as the business of interior design and how to form a budget on a client etc.  I have been involved in a company in Jordan, which has offered to train me as a designer, this company is said to be the biggest and the most efficient in engineering, architecture, landscaping, and interior design.

Thinking of the real world practice, as I have never worked in the real world yet, frightens me, as still a University student, I feel that I have not fully learnt to acknowledge the creative skills and practice yet.  Although, as a starting point, I feel the need to practice in that company this summer of 2013, to make more experience in client relationships, project management and advancing the technical skills.

The reason I chose this company because it has the King Abdullah award of the best company in Amman, Jordan.  I would defiantly take the chance from the best company, to apply their skills onto me.  I am completely willing to do and give all my best to this company, and learn as much as I can in order to be part of their design team, the practice that I will plan for them is to present all my creative abilities, my own innovation, although, I do know for a fact that there will be many mistakes at first, the start is the most hardest part, at that point, those mistakes should be learnt and be revised, another advantage in this company, is the kindness and great warm hospitality the employees offer when entering the building, this makes me feel more comfortable to be myself and to work in a gentle and helping environment.

My modes of practice are being inspired every day and make the most of the coming projects, what I can offer during my time in University, are to learn, and devote myself into learning, and during the time that I will work with CC (Consolidated Consultants) there will be a lot of devotion, inspiration, and even excitement.  It is exciting for me to think that I will be working finally as a designer, a part of my ambition and dream.  This experience will defiantly broaden my mind and ideas, make me feel more confident.

Being here in 2nd year of University, I always do my best and will always be eager to learn more, whether it is in UK, or in any country, design is cultural and international, it has no limits and anything is possible.

Personal statement of Advocacy.

I am a 2nd year Interior Design student in University; I have been involved in art and design since high school, which means I am dedicated to it.  With my motivation and determination, I have plans to become successful and skilful at most design software’s, and to become independent and take charge of my own design, based on my knowledge, that I still gain.

For the past 2 years, I have been practicing and gaining more skills on AutoCAD, some Adobe CS6 programs, and other rendering or model building software’s.  I am considered to be a learner, and I still have the potential to practice more to reach for my goals.  Currently, I am working in one of the best Interior Design, Architecture and Engineering company CC (Consolidated Consultants) in Amman, Jordan, only for 6 weeks, to ensure that I gain as much design skills, and real life project managements.
Everyday I build my design process better, as working with a real design team helps me to learn my mistakes, not only does the atmosphere help, but the seriousness of designers and their real problems push me forward to bring the best out of me into my work.  As I feel that I personally need a serious environment as much as I can, while being a student, with only experienced designers to give me guidance and teach me more about creativity each day.

Furthermore, I do consider myself a hard worker, with an optimistic mind-set always, I am a determined student, and will always have the heart to help any person who needs me.  I always believe that, failure is always the first thing that appears in your life, when you start something new, but one should not be sad that he/she has failed, it is the most important part of any career, as it teaches you to do the right things in the future.

Snowman on 3D Studio Max!

This is my first snowman using 3D max, as a beginer!

Tutorial 5 with Paul, using 3D Studio Max.

29/01/2013
Pauls lesson: 3D studio max

First, go to - customise – customize user interface, to make sure that the Space bar on your keyboard is to Assign to maximize viewport toggle, which makes it easier for you to use the viewports.

This is come up once you have done so..
You draw a rectangle on the perspective viewport..
and make a table, by moving the rectangle upwards, and add cylinders or tubes on the corners ( this is not to scale, just a begining practice..)

after you have made a table, you can stack all the shapes on the right hand side, and just practice to use the shift key and the wheel to move the views.

Tutorial 4 with Paul, 3D studio Max.

Paul Mitchell: 3D studio max.
Practicing like last weeks lesson, remembering the commands and the key short cuts. ( you can download the shortcuts online).

making the editable polys group, the 5 options that you can change with, vertices, edges, borders, element, and poly.
one of the attempts of making a pod, using the excrude, and the bevel tool..
An new attempt, from ISS.
These are experiments to just play with the options that changes shapes, there is the reference in which the object was chosen, which is ISS.

The slicing, making a series of boxes, highlight one of them, then hide the rest by right clicking then hide unselected.  Afterwards, with one box, you select the edges tool, which is number 2, then you select the top line first, then the second bottom one, right click, and connect, pressing the little box at the left hand corner, to make as shown, you can also select the number of segments or slices you want to have in the box.

Tutorial 3 with Google Sketchup.

Always export 2D images from google sketchup, do not ever print screen shot.
Open the sketchup model from blackboard, and then upload the model, camera view should be eye level then we add a scene on the top of the scenes tab.

then we triple click the chairs, then we hit the B key for paint bucket, we choose a colour to paint the chairs.

We use the magnifying glass to change the view for the camera, by pressing shift.
Then we export the model to 2d graphic, and click options when we want to save, make the width 2000 pixels.
Window, styles, then under edit, tick profile, extensions and endpoints.

once you have exported all the 2d graphic images, you stack every picture on photoshop ontop of each other in one window.
After we played with the sketchup model with the materials and styles , we make shadows, to make the place look realistic.  Also we try and find an image of a person walking as shown, on the internet, to put in the scene.  To make the shadow of the person, what I have done was, I have opened the person on a separate window, selected the person and copied onto the scene, dropped the opacity bar low, to 22% to make it look faint, after this step, to make the shadow completely black,  I have painted it after I have selected it with the paint bucket tool.
